WHAT IS FLORIDA'S EDEN?
Florida's Eden is a region of North Florida formed by a continuity of ecological systems. Historically the area was the home of the Timucuan peoples and today comprises thirty counties, three water management districts and two coastlines.
The Florida's Eden plan has been developed by the Artists Alliance of North Florida to encourage regional awareness and partnerships; preserve the natural treasures of the area; and enhance North Florida's creative economy.

WHAT IS THE ARTISTS ALLIANCE OF NORTH FLORIDA?
The Artists Alliance of North Florida (AAONF) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization formed to serve as the vehicle for a citizen-based movement to promote and portray the natural and cultural treasures of North Florida.

WHAT DO ARTISTS HAVE TO DO WITH THE ECONOMIC FUTURE OF NORTH FLORIDA?
The importance of the creative economy is having a world wide impact. The creative input is being seen as of primary importance in creating economic value. Regions which can maintain an atmosphere which encourages creativity are experiencing greater prosperity for their communities and residents. The AAONF was founded by artists, but the mission includes all those involved in the creative economy.

DOES NORTH FLORIDA REALLY HAVE A CREATIVE ECONOMY?
Absolutely. The Florida's Eden plan identifies twelve major sectors of the creative economy. Each of these includes core industries and businesses, and associated service industries. The impact of these twelve sectors on the total economy of North Florida is huge. However, in order to develop future prosperity while maintaining the qualities of North Florida that we love, these twelve sectors must be strengthened and develop an awareness of what future we would like to shape for our region. The twelve sectors include:

No. The Florida's Eden plan offers an open framework for participation. Everyone is welcome and everyone has something vital to contribute. Membership is affordable and offers specific benefits which you, your business, organization or community can benefit from.

HOW CAN BUSINESSES AND ORGANIZATIONS PARTICIPATE?
Business Participation: Businesses can greatly benefit from inclusion in the Florida's Eden Online Information Resource. They can also participate in any one of our Creative Economy Workshops. These have been divided into 12 sectors and have the purpose of strengthening your business success in the new creatve economy. Businesses can also serve as sponsors of Florida's Eden programs, helping to create regional and local solutions that will foster more vital creative business in North Florida.

Organization Participation: The Florida's Eden plan serves as an open framework for the networking of organizations invovled in any number of activities in North Florida. The strength of the plan is that it allows for the resources, strengths, and control of each organization to remain strong and autonomous. Inclusion in the Florida's Eden Information Resource will highlight the work of your organization. Even better, organizations can offer their own members the benefit of reduced membership fees in having their own pages in the online database. WHAT IS THE EDUCATIONAL ASPECT OF THE FLORIDA'S EDEN PLAN?
Education is a part of all aspects of the work of the AAONF and Florida's Eden. The ARTT (Artists Reaching Through Teaching) is a specific educational program targeting public school audiences as an enhancement to the core curriculum.

HOW IS THE FLORIDA'S EDEN PLAN FUNDED?
The Florida's Eden is funded through fees collected for inclusion in our online database, through funding specific programs with partner organizations, and through our own events and fundraising activities. To date AAONF has received less than $3,000. in state funds and has no major funders of any type.
