One Book/One Community/One Region Kick-Off Celebration
Marion County Public Library, Ocala Headquarters
Noon – 3 p.m. – Water festival exhibit with many exhibitors and free information.
Noon Program Kick-Off with Mirage Author Cynthia Barnett.
12:30 p.m. Cake cutting and book signing.
12:45 p.m. “Earthways and Waterways” musical presentation by Kris Kastle.
1:30 p.m.
Children’s water activities provided in the Children’s Division.
Free family activities, water exhibits, book signing, and presentations.
Florida’s Eden: One Book/One Community/One Region Kick-Off
On Top of the World’s Live Oak Hall at Circle Square Commons
Cynthia Barnett will discuss her book and answer questions with a book
signing to follow. Reservations are required for this free event; call 352-854-3699.
3 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Individual Tours with the Marion County Parks and Recreation Department.
Learn about Marion-friendly landscaping for commercial and residential properties with a customized presentation by Jim Couillard, registered landscape architect, who will provide a tour of the county’s first Florida yards & neighborhoods Golden Oak Award winning landscape located at the
McPherson Governmental Complex at 111 SE 25th Avenue in Ocala. A project overview of the new Forest Library is also available for interested
individuals or groups. The library will be the county’s first public building to be considered for the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leaderhsip
in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certiciation. For more information to set up a tour, please call 352-671-8560.
Children’s Water Activities
These will be provided throughout the months of February and March at the Ocala Headquarters of the Marion County Public Library. For more information, please call 352-368-4515.

Barnes & Noble Bookstore of Ocala has graciously agreed to support our public library and commemorate One Book/One Community/One Region with a Library Bookfair at the NEW store at Market Street at Heath Brook Plaza. Shop at the bookstore any time on Wednesday, March 25th and Barnes & Noble will donate a percent of total sales to the Marion County Public Library. Bookstore members can even use their membership card to count toward the bookfair.
You simply must show a voucher that will be distributed to you OR mention the library when you check out for your sale to count towards the library bookfair.
Additionally, Cynthia Barnett, author of Mirage, will participate in a book signing and question and answer presentation at the store at 7 p.m. on the 25th. The public is welcome to attend.
